THE MURPHY MEMORIAL GOLF CLASSIC

The Baltimore Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Baltimore Delta Alumnae Foundation, Inc. is proud to sponsor the DST Murphy Memorial Golf Classic named in honor of Founder Vashti Turley Murphy and The Murphy Legacy. In 1922, Founder Vashti Turley Murphy became a charter member of the Baltimore Alumnae Chapter and many of her descendants followed in her footsteps.

In support of this mission to service and the Murphy Family Legacy, the proceeds of this fundraiser will help provide four-year scholarships to deserving youth in the Baltimore area. The Baltimore Delta Alumnae Foundation Inc. has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to high school graduates to attend the college of their choice.

Let's Help 8 deserving students achieve their educational goal by helping the Baltimore Delta Alumnae Foundation reach their campaign goal. Support Dollars for Scholars! THE CARMAN LAY FOUNDATION

This past Saturday, April 26th The Carman Lay Foundation hosted its annual Swirl for a Girl Gala and Silent Auction to benefit the Maryland School for the Blind. The Carman Lay Foundation provides funds to help the students of The Maryland School for the Blind reach beyond limits, acquire new skills, achieve both what is possible and what sometimes seems impossible, and have experiences and relationships that make their lives more enriched and joyful.

The Carman Lay Foundation was created in memory of Carman Lay who was born with Aicardi syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. At birth doctors said she would never be able to walk, talk or even take care of herself. Fighting against the odds, Carman learned to walk unassisted and communicate with an assistive device. Sadly and unexpectedly, Carman passed in 2009 leaving a legacy that would inspire many to help children like Carman live a full and happy life.

This year Charm City Pretty donated a service to be raffled during the Silent Auction. You too can donate a make a difference. For more on Carman's story, The Carman Lay Foundation and information on how to donate visit www.thecarmanlayfoundation.org.
